FAQ

  • How does the AlkalineUP filter work?
Using the AlkalineUP filter you obtain alkaline water. The filtration removes chlorine and substances which may interfere with the taste and smell. The water from the AlkalineUP filter is mineralized and, therefore, as in the case of the magnesium MineralUP filter is not recommended for cooking. Daily drinking of alkaline water can raise the whole body pH. It can also enhance vitality, help provide a balanced diet and maintain the acid- balance of the body. Alkaline water is appreciated both in the Far East, the US and Europe. They have a long tradition of use in Japan and South Korea.
  • Is it worth filtering soft water?
Yes, if you mind the smell and taste (eg. Chlorine). We recommend a Dafi AlkalineUP filter. It doesn’t affect the sodium and potassium level.
  • Do the filters completely remove minerals contained in the tap water?
During the filtration process tap water is purified from the substances which may impair its odor, taste and colour. Only the excess of salts responsible for scale is removed. In addition, the filter stops mechanical impurities: sand, rust and fine suspensions. Filtered water cannot be compared with distilled water, which is completely demineralized and is not suitable for drinking. Dafi MineralUP and AlkalineUP filters mineralize the water with extra magnesium ions.
  • Do the filters remove manganese and iron?
We do not offer filters which remove manganese and iron.
  • What to do if the filter does not let the water flow?
It happens that the mix will work incorrectly when the filtering compound is too tight. It causes the water flow to be slowed down or even to stop. If it happens, you should shake the filter vigorously. If that does not work, contact us and we will replace your filter with a new one.
  • Little black specks have appeared in the jug after the first use. Are they dangerous?
It is a natural phenomenon. These are activated carbon particles which form part of the filter blend. These molecules will not, in any case, adversely affect health. The granular activated carbon is manufactured from coconut shell. Like every product of a natural origin, coconut shells are characterized by a natural variability of structure. Finally, non-adhering, small activated carbon particles can pass, along with the water filtered at the bottom of the pot. The carbon particles within the filter cartridge are responsible for the removal of impurities. The carbon used in the filter is natural and is similar to that used to treat indigestion.
  • What to do if the filter mix is leaking out?
Our production lines are fully automated, there may have been an insufficiently welded filtering mesh with the filter cap or it wrapped around, causing a leak from the deposit. Despite the improvement of our control processes, such mistakes sometimes happen. With each notified case of this type we immediately replace the filter with a new one.
  • After opening the foil, drops of water can be seen
Water droplets are an effect of sterilizing filter with water vapor at 100 ° C. This steam condenses so the interior remains moist - it is beneficial to maintain the optimal parameters of a filter.
  • Must the filter be constantly immersed in water?
The filter should be submerged in water, but if you sometimes forget about it, it will not significantly affect the properties of the filtration.
  • Why does green film appear on the bottom of the jug?
This is because algae growth may occur in the wet and the exposed environment. To prevent it, keep the jug in the shade or in the refrigerator and wash it when you replace the cartridge.
  • How to remove white coating, which has been deposited on the jug lid?

  • Do the jug filters remove bacteria from the water?
None of our filters remove bacteria from the water. Tap water is disinfected by the chlorine used in water pipes. Filter jugs remove the chlorine by filtration. The filter cartridge includes activated carbon which is impregnated with silver, it is a barrier against microbial growth, but without bactericidal properties.
  • What ingredients do Dafi Standard filters contain?
The filling is composed of activated carbon and ion exchange resin.

Activated carbon acts like a sponge - it absorbs chlorine and its derivatives, detergents and pesticides and organic impurities. This is similar to coal, which we buy at the pharmacy in the case of food poisoning and that is used in gas masks. It is a natural substance acquired mostly from the burning of coconut husks. Carbon removes odours from the water and improves its taste. In addition, it is impregnated with silver - it protects the interior of the filter from the development of microorganisms.

The ion exchange resin removes the excess salt which causes water hardness that is the cause of scaling in home appliances.

The raw materials we use come from German manufacturers and have the necessary quality certificates.
  • Can the replaceable filter be used for longer than one month if you rarely filter the water?
If you replace the filter within a few days of the expiry date, it will not cause a significant decrease in the quality of filtered water. However, to achieve the optimal parameters of the drinking water, the filter should be replaced after a month.
